Year 1 was run largely by one founder. The Adopt a Classroom findings below are from EFAS's own endline assessment. The Reading Fluency programme findings are staff observations, not a formal child-level assessment; they represent a different standard of evidence.
Year 1 was a proof of concept. One founder, no full-time team, no external funding. Can we get schools to say yes? Can we deliver what we promised? Is there something worth scaling? All three: yes.
EFAS conducted a baseline assessment, but those results are no longer available. Growth from baseline cannot be quantified. The team observed comprehension progress across students; this is a staff observation, not a verified individual growth measure from baseline records.
Reading fluency findings for this programme were based on staff observation, not a formal child-level assessment instrument. No percentage result is reported. This is a different standard of evidence to the Adopt a Classroom endline above.
Five partner schools, Program Managers from the Teach For India network, and a formal child-level tracking system in development.
Approximately 920 children, estimated at 40 students per classroom across 23 classrooms. This is an estimate, not a verified student roster count.
